Baseball is a sport played between two teams usually of nine players each. It is a bat-and-ball game in which a pitcher throws (pitches) a hard, fist-sized, leather-covered ball toward a batter on the opposing team. The batter attempts to hit the baseball with a tapered cylindrical bat, made of wood (as required in professional baseball) or a variety of other materials (as allowed in many nonprofessional games). A team scores runs only when batting, by advancing its players—primarily via hits—counterclockwise past a series of four markers called bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square, or "diamond." The game, played without time restriction, is structured around nine segments called innings. In each inning, both teams are given the opportunity to bat and score runs; a team`s half-inning ends when three outs are recorded against that team.
Bets For Baseball
People have bet on baseball for as long as the game has been around. The infamous Shoeless Joe Jackson and eight other players of the 1919 Chicago White Sox World Series team were all accused of throwing the games of the series to make a few extra thousand dollars apiece. Not condoning this kind of behavior, the White Sox have cleaned the tarnish from their name and are now World Series Champions just in the last two years.

Now depending on when you place your bets if it is the beginning of the season or the middle or the end can change the bet you make and the odds on winning that bet.

American League Baseball Teams
American League (or formally the American League of Professional Baseball Clubs) is one of two leagues that make up Major League Baseball in the United States of America and Canada. It developed from the Western League, a minor league based in the Great Lakes states, that eventually aspired to major league status. The A.L. is often called the Junior Circuit because it was elevated to Major League status in 1901, 25 years after the formation of the National League. Initially in 1903, and then annually from 1905, the regular season champions of the two leagues have met in the World Series. (There was also no World Series in 1994, when a strike curtailed the season with no League champion decided.) Through the 2006 season, American League teams have won 60 of the 102 World Series played.
